We woke up; got dressed; had breakfast. Typical morning. We drove up to the visitors center. Typical mom. My dad got a phone call. Typical dad. Except the phone call wasn't typical. It was our friends, the Pedersen's. They have a daughter my age, Faith, and a sixteen-year-old son, Evan. They were doing a similar trip to ours. Especially today. They were in Glacier National Park today, too! They drove to the visitors center and met up with us. We went across the street to a rafting place and scheduled a trip for tomorrow morning at ten a.m. Then we started driving on Going-to-the-Sun road which is fifty miles long. The view was amazing! There were loads of waterfalls; creeks, ponds, lakes; trees, trees, and more trees; walking bridges; and a mountain goat! We hiked a two mile trail, the Trail of Cedars, up to Avalanche Lake. The lake had 3 waterfalls dropping down into it. We stopped at a beach area next to the lake. We swam (and got pushed in by bratty dads) in the lake, skipped rocks (my record is still two), basked in the sun (should've worn sunscreen) and fed chipmunks (they don't like me today). The road goes up like 7000 feet. At one point we were literally in the clouds! After driving the road (100 miles total) we stopped fir dinner then headed back to our campsite. Faith and her family got a campsite in the same campground we're staying at. We even had sleepovers. Faith stayed with us, and Joshua stayed with the Pedersen's. Tomorrow we're going rafting then going down to Yellowstone National Park. Stay tuned to experience our adventure!
