This morning we set down our camper and headed to the overflow campsite. Unfortunately, all of the other campsites in Jasper are booked. I know; it's crazy. There are 800 sites in one of the campgrounds alone. After we set up our camper it was about eleven a.m here (1 p.m Louisville time). We got in our car and took a short road trip to Moose Lake Loop to hike a two mile trail. At the lake we stopped and waded. When we got back to our car, we headed to a small creek/picnic area. We stayed there for hours! We hung up our ENOs, made sandwiches, swam in the creek, and fed chipmunks cheez-its and ruffles. We also saw a deer and several hoary marmots. After we left the creek, we stopped at a small pullout. The pullout turned out to be a road that led down to a small part of the creek. There was an island in the middle that we swam out to. There were pretty purple and red flowers, and small trees. It was just about the most beautiful place we'd ever been. We drove on down the road and stopped at Medicine Lake. There was a nesting pair of bald eagles, and we could see the momma in the nest. We walked down to the clear waters edge and dipped our toes in. The water was freezing! But that didn't stop us from going swimming (which was a bad idea). There was a large boulder on the edge of the lake that we jumped off several times. I think we might have hypothermia. Brrr! After walking (and shivering) our way back to the car, we headed back to our camper to warm up and have dinner. We might head to Banff tomorrow. Stay tuned to experience our adventure!
