We made it to our campsite last night, then we set up our camper. This morning we slept in until about nine a.m (noon Louisville time). After I woke up, my dad and I walked across the street to a small coffee shop. He got a latte, and I got a hot chocolate. After we walked back, the rest of my family was awake. We got ready to go (we're staying there again tonight), then headed out to a hiking trail. The trail was beautiful. There were small bridges, stepping logs, hollowed-out trees, Spanish moss, and an incredible view. At the end of the trail there was a view of the ocean. There were small islands and caves littering the coast and horizon. We even saw two seals and a sea lion. They were so cute, rolling around in the water and splashing. At this point, we were at the northwestern most point in the contiguous US. (If any of my dad's friends are reading this, contiguous means connected.) We hiked back to our car and headed to another hiking trail in the Hoh Rain Forest. We hiked a trail called the Hall of Mosses. It was absolutely, without a doubt, my favorite place we've been our entire trip. The trees were ginormous and covered in a layer of club moss. The trail was about a mile long, and I loved every minute. We also drove through Olympic National Park. As of now, we're on our way to Ruby Beach so we can see it at low tide. We've heard the tidal pools are fantastic. Then we'll head back to the campsite. Stay tuned to experience our adventure Pictures to come when I have better service. I'm so sorry that this keeps happening!
